After more than two decades working at the intersection of media and technology, I now serve as Managing Director of IPTC, the global standards body for the news and media industry. I help connect publishers, broadcasters, news agencies, and technology providers around the world through open technical standards that underpin the way media is created, shared, and trusted. My career has taken me from leading editorial technology at Fairfax Media in Australia, to driving large-scale digital transformation projects at the BBC, Associated Press, and Newsworks, to co-founding a journalism marketplace startup. Along the way, I’ve worked with everything from web infrastructure and digital archives to video distribution, rights and metadata, advertising technology, and cloud architecture.I’m passionate about building bridges between business, editorial, and technology. Whether advising C-suites on strategy, working with developers on implementation, or speaking at international conferences, I thrive on helping organisations unlock value through collaboration and standards.Based in Tallinn, Estonia, I’ve lived and worked in Melbourne, Berkeley, and London, and have spoken at events in more than a dozen countries. I hold a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from Monash University and an MBA from London Business School, and I’m a certified AWS Solutions Architect.
